Gourmet Blueberry Nut Grilled Cheese

Grilled cheese

Here’s my upgraded version of the traditional grilled cheese. This recipe is really quick and easy to do. If you don’t have blueberries on hand, you can use pears or apples and it will taste just as delicious! Serve with raw vegetables or a small green salad!

1 serving

58 g (2) slices whole wheat or multigrain bread with no added sugar or fat
60 g low-fat Swiss cheese
30 ml (2 tablespoons) walnuts, chopped
125 ml (1/2 cup) fresh blueberries, crushed with a pestle
5 ml (1 teaspoon) honey

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Put the bread slices on a baking sheet. Spread cheese, nuts, and blueberries on the first slice. Spread honey on the second slice, and use it to cover the first slice.
  3. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

Bon appétit!
