My Favourite Mobile Apps

If there is one thing that follows you everywhere nowadays, it’s your smart phone! What if healthy nutrition could also follow you anywhere you go? Here are 3 free apps and one paid app that will boost your healthy habits!

You must know that becoming aware of the calories you ingest is one of the first steps toward a weight loss process. Therefore, with this app (available in French) you will be able to count the calories and nutrients you ingest throughout the day. A huge food database is made available to you as well as several other options, such as a weight tracker and a barcode scanner. Other similar apps are also available (MyFitnessPal, Lose It!), but FatSecret is my favourite!

out-of-milkOrganise you fridge with Out of milk

We often say that the key to healthy nutrition is planning. With Out of milk, no more need to carry around pen and paper, because your grocery list is virtual! Make several shopping lists, organise your items, and cross them off your list as you put them in your basket. It is even possible to share your lists with your family members. For less than $ 2.00, you can also purchase the complete version that adds a few other additional options.

wolappStay motivated with Way of life

It can be hard to qualify our habits when we do not pay them a lot of attention. Way of life (available in French) is an app that enables you to follow your progress in a concrete manner. Set yourself 3 SMART objectives, and see if you reach them using the coloured graphs and the trends over several months. Unfortunately, it is only available through the AppStore. Let’s hope that the Android version comes out soon!

Although it is not yet available as a mobile app, I wanted to tell you about Total Coaching. It’s a virtual coaching service that offers you the possibility to fix objectives (weight, minutes or exercise, distances, etc.), follow your progress, write down what you eat, compile your exercises, know your energetic balance, learn your nutritional deficiencies, and I could go on. Total Coaching also enables you to communicate with your trainer and nutritionist at all times. It’s the best way to stay motivated!
