Watermelon Sorbet

Make the most of summer with this refreshing and easy-to-make watermelon sorbet! Made with just four ingredients, this frozen dessert highlights the natural sweetness of watermelon, enhanced with a hint of fresh lime.

Thanks to its high water content, watermelon is incredibly hydrating and also provides vitamin C and antioxidants. A touch of honey adds just the right amount of sweetness, creating a light and delicious treat that’s perfect for hot summer days.

Colourful, refreshing, and simple to prepare, this sorbet is a great option to enjoy as a snack, dessert, or at a summer barbecue with family and friends.

Servings: 6
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Freezing Time: 3 hours

Ingredients

  • 5 cups seedless watermelon, cubed (about one 3 lb watermelon)
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) honey
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Lime zest, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper and arrange the watermelon cubes in a single layer. Freeze until completely solid, about 3 hours.
  2. Transfer the frozen watermelon, honey, lime juice, and salt to a food processor or high-powered blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Scrape down the sides as needed and continue blending until the mixture reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
  4. Serve immediately for a soft-serve texture, or transfer to an airtight container and freeze for an additional 2 to 3 hours for a firmer sorbet.

Storage: Store the sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
