Does Your Pantry Help You Maintain Your Figure?

Fall, definitely my favourite season! It’s particularly well-suited for spending the day outside, and cocooning inside in the evening. And if you are like me, the best time to shop for groceries is certainly not after a whole day spent hiking!

So, in order to avoid ordering food (pizza, Chinese, chicken, etc.) each weekend, I make sure that I have a handy stock of healthy, quick, and practical supplies!

Here is my golden list of foods to keep at home to make sure you stay fit despite the end of summer season.

I am curious to know about yours… Don’t hesitate to share your favourite foods with me in the comments section below!

Canned

Tomato sauce, corn, red or black beans, tuna, salmon.

Airtight containers

Whole flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, maple syrup, cane sugar, dried fruit, tea, whole cereals.

On shelves

Vinegar (balsamic, rice, cider, white), vegetable oil (in small quantity), grains (pasta, rice, couscous, quinoa), multigrain crackers, low-fat popcorn, dark chocolate, compotes with no added sugar, low-sodium chicken broth.

In the fridge

Natural nut butter, yogurt/Greek yogurt, milk, light cheese, tofu, margarine, pure juice, eggs, Dijon mustard, light mayonnaise, oils (in larger quantities).

In the freezer

Breads (tortillas, bagels, pitas, naan – ideally whole grains), edamame beans, frozen fruit and vegetables, nuts, flax seeds, frozen yogurt, meat and fish (chicken, extra-lean ground beef, game sausages, salmon).
