Temps de lecture 3 minutes

Are you in need of inspiration to prepare supper in the evening? Or maybe you are looking for more tips on how to lose weight? Or advice on how to improve your athletic performances? Well, I found some good reads for you!

  1. Les lunchs de Geneviève, by Geneviève O’gleman, nutritionist
This fantastic book will not only give you simple and delicious ideas to brighten up lunch hour, but also numerous tips to save time and money: how to reinvent the classic sandwich, use leftovers to make everyone happy, or even how to better organise your kitchen! Everything’s in there!
  2. Mangez!, by Guylaine Guèvremont, nutritionist
You feel guilty when you treat yourself with a pastry? You are not the type of person who will follow a nutrition plan, or count calories? Then this book is for you! It will teach you to listen to your body: eating when you are hungry, eating what you feel like eating, but knowing how to stop once the satiety feeling kicks in. Sounds simple enough? I challenge you!
  3. Mindless eating: why we eat more than we think, by Brian Wansink, Ph. D.
Do you read the newspaper while eating breakfast? Are you addicted to buying bulk packs with the intention of saving money? You probably think that you cannot be duped by such small details. But studies led by Dr. Wansick have demonstrated just the opposite: everyone is unconsciously influenced by their environment. This book will help you identify the traps and pitfalls that make you eat more, and thus make your weight-loss process easier.
  4. Life is hard, food is easy: the 5-step plan to overcome emotional eating and lose weight on any diet, by Linda Spangle
Are you more inclined to eat your emotions? When you are frustrated, stressed, sad, or even bored, do you look for comfort in food? Which feeling pushes you into excess? How can we avoid eating our emotions? This book provides wonderful, concrete tips, to finally tackle this problem for good!
  5. Nutrition, Sport et Performance, by Marielle Ledoux, Geneviève St-Martin, and Natalie Lacombe
This trio of nutritionists addresses the question of sports nutrition. What should we eat to gain muscle mass, when practicing endurance sports, whether it be during training or in a competition! Nutrition plan, hydration, supplements, and delicious recipes are all featured, for the weekend warrior as well as the seasoned athlete!

In conclusion, don’t even think that I forgot the famous Zero Diet book, by Karine Larose, M. Sc. Kinanthropology. It deals with healthy nutrition while losing weight, and contains wise pre- and post-workout advice. It should be noted that all of these recipes were created by Nautilus Plus nutritionists, who hold dear the pleasure of eating well!

And you, what is your favorite nutrition book?
