RX1 Nation: functional obstacle race accessible to everyone

Are you looking for a new challenge? Want to push your limits? Be part of a dynamic group? Look no further! Join a Nautilus Plus team and take part in an RX1 Nation race!

What is RX1 Nation?

RX1 Nation is a Quebec-based company specializing in obstacle-style sporting events, more specifically functional fitness competitions. Their mission is to encourage people of all ages and fitness levels to push their limits through a series of 10 sporting events.

Eight of these events, held across various regions of Quebec, are part of what is known as the Nation Tour. For the 2026 Nation Tour season, RX1 Nation has reinstated the Nautilus Plus Cup. This means that all participating Nautilus Plus clubs will compete against one another for the title!

The Nation Tour Experience: What to Expect

Each Nation Tour event is unique, but every course follows the same structure:

  • Between 3 and 5 km of cardio (running or rowing, participant’s choice);
  • 2 to 3 carrying or transport stations (sled push or pull, farmer’s carry, carrying balls, etc.);
  • 8 to 12 functional exercises (a mix of weightlifting, gymnastics, and strength training).

It’s important to note that five different levels are offered, ensuring everyone can find the right challenge. Additional levels are also available for children and teenagers. All standards and details for each level can be found on the RX1 Nation website.

What Does a Typical RX1 Nation Race Day Look Like?

Upon arrival at the event site, the first step is to pick up your timing chip and your race shirt. The chip tracks your race time, while the shirt—mandatory during the race—indicates your category through its color.

Next, you gather with your team and warm up. Participants then report to the starting line 10 minutes before their assigned start time. A volunteer will explain the course details, and then…the race begins! Give it your all!

Throughout the course, volunteers are present to guide participants. Judges are also on-site to supervise the functional exercise stations and count completed repetitions.

It’s also worth noting that event sites feature various booths selling sports apparel and training equipment. For younger children, inflatable games and obstacle courses are available. It’s truly a family-friendly event!

I Want to Participate! How Does It Work?

All registrations are completed directly on the RX1 Nation website. When signing up for an RX1 Nation race, there are three key elements to review carefully:

  1. Category: Make sure to select the correct category (Discovery, Amateur, Intermediate, Expert, or Pro) as well as the appropriate age group. Unsure which category suits you best? A Nautilus Plus kinesiologist can help guide you.
  2. Team: Select the correct team, as multiple Nautilus Plus clubs are participating. For example, the Blainville club’s team is called “Nautilus Plus Blainville.”
  3. Race Shirt: Choose your race shirt! The event shirt is mandatory on the course. As mentioned earlier, the color identifies your category for judges. You may choose the standard RX1 Nation shirt or a personalized version. The personalized shirt features your team’s logo on the front and back, and you can even add your name and chosen number—perfect for proudly representing your team!
