Nutrition Month – Take A 100 Meal Journey

February 25, 2016 - By Nautilus Plus

Temps de lecture 2 minutes

For more than 30 years, in the month of March, Dietitians of Canada has been organising a Nutrition Month campaign to provide Canadians with guidance for choosing, eating, and enjoying healthy food.

The theme of the 2016 campaign is:  Take a 100 meal journey; make small changes one meal at a time. Over a month, we eat about 100 meals. So, in March, participants are required to take on the challenge of making small changes in their eating habits and stick to them. Dietitians of Canada suggests a different sub-theme each week:

Week 1: Get ready!

Week 2: Quality counts!

Week 3: Prioritize portion size!

Week 4: Try something new!

Week 5: Make it stick!

On top of the information shared on the Nutrition Month website, we will be providing you with tools that will help you make small changes and rise to the challenge of the 100 meal journey. Via my Facebook page “Alyssa Fontaine Nutritionniste”, I’ll be sharing with you video clips featuring Dietitians of Canada recipes.

All the weekly themes will also be presented on my Facebook page along with daily tips from Dietitians of Canada. At the end of each week, we’ll be asking you to answer a question about the changes you’ve made. You’ll then be in the running for a prize like a book or session with a nutritionist.

Nautilus Plus, too, is organising various activities throughout their branches, particularly nutrition information booths and express consultations with a nutritionist. Enquire at any branch to know when these activities will take place.

I strongly suggest you join us for A 100 Meal Journey! Together we can change our eating patterns one meal at a time!
