About our blog

Our blog I’m taking charge, a Nautilus Plus initiative, brings together writers from the fields of physical activity and nutrition. Our main objective is to share tips and tricks on training and healthy nutrition to help you take charge of your life. Whether it is to lose weight, increase your muscle mass, or a combination of both, our advice will help you in your process. On our blog, you will find delicious and healthy recipes, exercises, ideas to stay motivated, in addition to essential information on training and nutrition.

Karine Larose, M.Sc.
Karine Larose is a kinesiologist, Director of Marketing and Communications and Spokesperson for Nautilus Plus who specializes in fitness motivation. She authored The Guide to Healthier Living, penned the book 10-4 The Healthy Way to Lose 10 Pounds in 4 Weeks and released her third work called Zero Diet: Delicious and Healthy Recipes for Success, all by Les Éditions du TRÉCARRÉ. Karine has launched a series of exercise DVDs entitled 30 minutes par jour pour Vivre Plus and is featured on the ULTIME FIT online platform. Many TV shows and radio stations regularly request Karine’s point of view on physical exercise issues and points of interest.
Sophie Blais
Sophie has always been passionate about food. She loves creating healthy and tasty dishes, and sharing them. By sharing her recipes, Sophie wants to inspire people to cook with fresh and healthy foods. She also wishes to prove that it is possible to eat healthy without sacrificing taste! All of her recipes and their nutritional value are validated and approved by a nutrition coordinator at Nautilus Plus. Bon appétit!
Julie Brousseau
Julie’s passion for health and the environment was clear at an early age. She discovered her passion for nutrition when she substituted ingredients to make healthy homemade muffins. Now a graduate of the University of Montreal and a nutritionist at Nautilus Plus since December 2016, Julie shares her knowledge and her passion for healthy cooking with her colleagues and clients alike, as well as through her own personal blog. In addition to using her flair and creativity in the kitchen, Julie expresses her artistic side through competitive contemporary dance. She is the first to say that staying fit and eating well should be a pleasure and not a chore! Julie Brousseau, Dt.P.
Anick Vézina
A member of the Ordre Professionnel des Diététiste-Nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ) and Dietitians of Canada since 2019, Anick joined the Nautilus Plus team after graduating from the University of Ottawa's Honours Bachelor of Science in Nutrition - Dietetics program. She works with a varied clientele since her interests in the field of nutrition are extensive. Vegan for many years and passionate about cooking, Anick is constantly on the lookout for new culinary discoveries and has made it her mission to help all those who wish to learn about, or further their knowledge of plant-based cooking. The principle Anick strongly believes in: A healthy mind in a healthy body!
Sabrina Lamarre
Sabrina Lamarre is a member of the Ordre des diététistes-nutritionniste du Québec (ODNQ) and has a bachelor's degree from Laval University. A sportswoman by nature, she is passionate about nutrition in the context of physical activity. She works with different types of clientele such as people whose goal is to lose weight, gain muscle mass, suffer from digestive problems or have other specific health problems. Her objective is to guide you towards achieving and maintaining your goals by focusing on a healthy diet on a physical level, but especially on a mental level. Finally, as the food industry is constantly evolving, she devotes a lot of energy to being supported by science while staying on top of the latest trends.
Dorothée Buteau-Poulin
Committed nutritionist since 2014, Dorothée also holds a master’s degree in kinesiology. She is driven by her passion to help you make significant changes in your lifestyle and your relationship with food. Her clientele truly appreciates her non-judgemental attitude, her strategic planning of realistic goals and discovering the root causes of their decision to change .
Amélie Deschamps
Amélie obtained her Nutrition and Dietetics degree from Laval University in 2017 and is a member of the Ordre des professionnels diététistes du Québec. She began her career at Nautilus Plus as shift supervisor in 2016 and has been on our team of nutritionists since January 2018. Passionate about running and triathlons, Amélie specializes in sports nutrition because she believes that sports and healthy nutrition are one and the same. In 2017, she completed a 15 hour training course on nutrition and micronutrition for endurance sports and is currently considering the International Olympic Committee diploma in sports nutrition. She is also interested in the weight loss process, building muscle mass, as well as writing articles and giving conferences on the benefits of healthy eating. She believes in eating without restrictions and focuses rather on proper balance and pleasing the palate.
Maude Martinez
A foodie from a very young age, Maude has always enjoyed discovering new flavours and new recipes. A graduate of Université de Montréal in 2016 and a member of the Ordre professionnel des diététistes du Québec, Maude has been a member of the Nautilus team since 2018. She is passionate about food chemistry, a subject she actually taught in CEGEP, and sports nutrition, which was the topic of many of her conferences. She thoroughly enjoys jogging and goes on regular hikes in order to stay active. What she wishes to instill in all her clients is that, healthly food choices don’t have to be complicated to be appealing and satisfying. Cooking and eating must always remain simple pleasures in life!
Véronique Plante
Véronique, a Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist since 2006, is a proud member of the Nautilus Plus team. With a vast experience in private practice, Véronique is recognized for her ability to popularize the science of nutrition and engage her clients. In her non-judgemental approach, she supports her clients through active listening while simplifying their journey in achieving their health goals. Her fields of intervention are diabetes, cardiovascular disease and weight management.
Anaïs Duval-Violton
Anaïs Duval-Violton is a member of the Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ) and a graduate of the Université de Montréal since 2022. She is compassionate and cheerful and helping her clients is her priority. From sports nutrition to weight management to lifestyle improvement, she works in accordance with her clients' goals and expectations. Her aim is for her clients to acquire knowledge that is both theoretical and practical, and tailored to their needs. Long-term change is of key importance to her.
Daphné Cadieux
A nutritionist with a degree from McGill University, it was her interest in sports nutrition that led Daphné down this path. As a lifelong gourmet and sports enthusiast, what could be better than a field that combines the two? Daphné will help you achieve your goals, while maintaining the pleasure of eating. Whether you're looking for advice on building muscle mass or alleviating symptoms of digestive disorders, she'll tailor her approach to your needs.
Loan Hoang
Diplômée de l’Université Laval en février 2020, Loan travaille chez Nautilus Plus depuis février 2021 comme nutritionniste. Passionnée de nutrition et d’activité physique, elle est une fervente adepte de plein air et de voyages culinaires. Elle vous partage des recettes variées créées sur l’inspiration du moment à travers lesquelles elle insiste sur l’équilibre des saveurs. Ses recettes, testées et appréciées, ont l’avantage d’être simples et faciles à réaliser. Elles ont été conçues pour un mode de vie actif dans le cadre de saines habitudes de vie, visant la santé générale et une saine gestion du poids. En espérant que vous trouverez autant de plaisir qu’elle en a eu à les déguster et à les cuisiner!
Véronique Dion-Cyr
A member of the ODNQ (Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec) and a graduate of the University of Ottawa, Véronique is passionate about cooking, outdoor activities and especially sports nutrition! She specializes in weight loss, muscle gain and the development of lifelong healthy eating habits. Her goal is to help you reach your goals while considering your specific situation and lifestyle.

Vanessa Bouchard
A graduate of the University of Montreal in Kinesiology, Vanessa is a level 3 personal trainer and assistant manager of a Nautilus Plus club. She is an avid runner, road cyclist and obstacle course runner. She wants to help all her clients to surpass themselves, whether they are high-level athletes, beginners, young or old. Vanessa also works in the CISSS for the prevention of deconditioning among seniors.
Alicia Vigeant
Nutritionist at Nautilus Plus and a 2019 graduate, Alicia is driven by a desire to share her love of food with you. Improving your lifestyle and your relationship with food are her main interests. Whatever your goals, she will accompany you in a simple, fun and caring way.
Michael Patsatzis
A health and fitness enthusiast, Michael has been working in the fitness industry for more than 20 years. Club Manager at Nautilus Plus since 2000, his goal is to share his passion and experience about physical training to his team members and esteemed clients so that they attain their personal fitness objectives. Michael is a Concordia University Graduate and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Therapy and a Diploma in Massage Therapy. In 1998, he completed the ANIE certification in Personal Training. He has been involved in team sports all his life and, in the last few years, plays mostly recreational ball hockey. In the gym, his training is primarily comprised of functional training workouts.
Anne-Marie Lacroix
A nutritionist with a degree from McGill University, Anne-Marie never tires of evolving in her chosen field. She decided to further her education by obtaining a diploma in sports nutrition from the International Olympic Committee. This diploma allows her to combine her two greatest passions: sport and nutrition. She has also developed an expertise in the treatment of eating disorders. She believes that nutrition can be simple and fun while helping to develop healthy lifestyle habits or achieve athletic performance goals.
Mathieu Coulombe
A graduate of Laval University in kinesiology and holder of an MBA in Health Services Management, Mathieu is a personal trainer and the manager of a Nautilus Plus fitness center. Interested in everything health related, he specializes in the introduction and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. His vision is that physical activity should lead to surpassing oneself while including the element of pleasure! "Enjoy the process and you will be surprised at the results.
Mélika Ben Yedder
Mélika graduated from the University of Montreal in Kinesiology. She is the manager of a Nautilus Plus branch and a personal trainer. A former high-level boxer, several times Quebec champion in her sport and now a triathlete, Mélika likes to help her clients reach their goals and surpass themselves. The client relationship is a priority for her and this is what sets her apart in her care. This harmonious teamwork with her clients is one of her most appreciated strengths!
Jeanne Gaumont
Jeanne est détentrice d’un double bac universitaire en kinésiologie et psychologie de l’université américaine William and Mary, en Virginie. Après avoir terminé sa carrière universitaire NCAA en basketball, Jeanne a développé une passion pour l'entraînement fonctionnel de haute intensité. Ne délaissant pas sa passion première pour le sport, Jeanne est impliquée dans le coaching en basketball tout en complétant ses études en ostéopathie. Elle a comme mission première de transmettre l’idée de dépassement de soi à ses clients et son entourage.
Mathieu Têtu
A graduate in kinesiology from Laval University, Mathieu is a CSEP-certified exercise physiologist and High Performance Specialist. He is a level 4 personal trainer and assistant manager at Nautilus Plus. Specialist in cardiometabolic and musculoskeletal disorders, Mathieu enjoys taking charge of physical and mental well-being of his clients by helping them adopting new lifestyle habits and focusing on the long term. His other sports passions include swimming, running, skiing and cycling.
Alexa McLaughlin
Licensed nutritionist and now earning her master's in nutrition, Alexa is passionate about good food and loves to help her clients rediscover the pleasure of eating. Her areas of expertise are diabetes (type 1, 2 and gestational) and the management of chronic diseases by adopting sustainable and enjoyable lifestyle habits. No matter where you are in your journey towards a healthier diet, Alexa will be happy to accompany you in the pursuit of your goals!
Gabrielle Fortier
A nutritionist with a degree from the Université de Montréal and a member of the ODNQ (L'Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec), Gabrielle is cheerful and compassionate. She listens to her clients and understands that dietary changes can take time. Gabrielle can help you on your journey while respecting your pace. She has the physical and psychological health of her clients at heart. She is there to support you and guide you towards your goals to create healthier and sustainable eating habits.

Bianca Desmarais
Bianca a complété son baccalauréat en Kinésiologie en 2017. Travaillant comme entraîneur personnel, elle est également gérante-adjointe de la succursale de Repentigny. Sportive dans l'âme, Bianca a fait tous les sports possibles: Hockey, Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, etc. C'est cependant au Basketball qu'elle s'est démarquée en participant au Jeux du Québec, remportant la médaille d'argent pour la région de Lanaudière. Ce passé sportif est un atout pour ses clients, car sa prescription d'entraînement est variée et adaptée en fonction de chacun. Elle se spécialise en course à pied, sa passion, ayant complété 5 demi-marathons au cours des 2 dernières années. Elle se spécialise également en perte de poids et en réadaptation. Bianca aime faire une différence dans la vie de ses clients, tant au niveau physique que psychologique. "Il est important de s'amuser en s'entraînant, de s'amuser en cuisinant et de s'amuser en mangeant. Si ce premier objectif n'est pas atteint, je considère qu'il me reste encore du travail.
Annie Galarneau
Intervenante en cours de groupe chez Nautilus Plus depuis 2007, Annie est certifiée en exercices de groupe et en yoga. Responsable de la mise en place des formations pour l’Association Nationale des Intervenants en Entraînement (ANIE), elle est également formatrice pour la certification ANIE en exercices de groupe et évaluatrice de cours de groupe pour Nautilus Plus. Elle continue chaque année de poursuivre ses perfectionnements dans divers domaines de l’activité physique et plus récemment elle a ajouté à son bagage la formation Pilates sur rouleau masseur en 2019.
