First, as you can see, the challenge allowed me to change physically. Having changed my weight, and my whole physical condition, I was able to set myself several challenges, such as a half-marathon. These challenges would have been impossible before I lost weight and got back in shape.

Secondly, the challenge allowed me to learn the fundamentals of nutrition, and how to cook using less fat and salt, but just as much flavour. I can say this is one of the aspects I enjoyed the least during the challenge. But today it’s totally different, I love to cook, and although I often use the same recipes, I keep in mind my nutritional plan. Yes, just like everyone, I can “cheat” from time to time, but I make sure that my day, or at least my week is balanced.

The third point is the schedule. The challenge made me realize that we all have the same amount of hours available in a week, and that it is possible to do anything we want with them, once we have completed our 8 hours of sleep and 8 hours of work. If other people have time to workout and cook healthy food, I can do it too. By adjusting my schedule, I was able to save time for my workouts, and now I run during lunch break and use my bike to go to work. It allows me to keep a balance between work, family, and training. I’m already looking forward to passing this passion on to my son.

It’s already been 3 years since the challenge took place, and to this day I have successfully maintained my new shape. Even if the maintenance phase is the hardest part, by setting new objectives and organizing your schedule, it’s possible to be successful and enjoy life at the fullest.
