second week of the I’m Taking Charge 2 Challenge

Blogue_en-tete defi 2_ang

After a first week heavy with emotions… and physical strain (do I really need to mention it?), our candidates still seem very motivated! They have been presented with their training programs, and have been explained the basic rules of nutrition required for a spectacular transformation by their nutritionists. The majority of them experienced muscle soreness, which confirms their assiduity and the intensity of their training sessions!

Behaviour changes!
The second week started off as vigorously as the first. Although training ensures greater daily energy expenditure and the maintenance/development of muscle mass, nutrition plays an essential part in any weight loss process. Exercise alone is not enough! At this stage, I believe that what will be hardest for our contestants is to admit that some of their current behaviours are detrimental to weight loss. Old habits will have to be completely modified! They have to realize this quickly. To be able to do this, they need to be open to the idea of changing these bad habits by adopting the new suggested practices to get impressive results!

The pictures are on display
Last week, the pictures of each contestant were posted on the walls of the Nautilus Plus center that they represent. Seeing their own picture while training made some of them feel embarrassed and proud at the same time! Other members around them will soon begin to recognize and encourage them. What could be more motivating?

The top 12 of best weight loss
And now, the long-awaited moment: the first TOP 12 results were posted Tuesday morning! Here is the top 6 of the best weight loss for both men and women (presented as percentage of weight lost).

Congratulations to the TOP 12 contestants! As for the others, do not worry, this is only the beginning. Keep applying the suggested principles and the results will come.

Cheer the contestants!
I take this opportunity to inform you that many contestants are active on social networks and use this platform to share their experience and enthusiasm. I therefore invite you to read them. Their stories might inspire you, and do not hesitate to encourage them as well. Here are a few comments the contestants posted on the blog and on Facebook about their first week of training:

Testimonies of the first week:

Yvan: “I am at my 5th day of training and everything is going great. I even do a little more. I work on the 13th floor of the Marie-Guyart skyscraper, and on each morning and afternoon break, I climb the stairs all the way up from the 13th to the 31st floor, and then come back down. The first days were hard on my legs, but now everything is fine. I will get back to you next week with some ideas for meals… I love cooking and I am discovering marvellous things in my new nutrition program. A big thank you to everyone supporting us, it is extremely good for our spirits!”

Sarah: “What a great challenge! I feel the next 12 weeks will be incredible. (…) Training is going well. Nutrition too. All it takes is planning and things go smoothly. To all the contestants, I strongly recommend that you use Total Coaching to keep track of your progress in the nutritional and exercise logs. It is an excellent tool! Thanks to my social circle and the Nautilus Plus team for encouraging and supporting me. I am so happy to have such an opportunity.”

David: …This is a unique opportunity that we get to rely on professionals to supervise our training. The Challenge is the best thing that could happen to me. However, I now realize the extent of the effort which must be made… (…) The cardiovascular workouts of this first week are hard on me. (…) 5 times in 5 days on top of two hockey games, phew! (…) Regarding food, everything is ok. Everyone in the family benefits from the good advice of the nutritionist and the good recipes of the 10-4 book. Today is the first Friday night of my life that I will spend in a gym!”

Sabrina: “I’m doing really well! I love my gym! I always get a great welcome when I get there. I feel at home!! I have a great team behind me!! Gogogo…”

So let’s keep going!

Have a great second week!
