This week, the 39 contestants for the I’m Taking Charge 2 Challenge have officially begun their physical transformation program. They had the opportunity to meet each other at an information session, and they benefit from the supervision of professionals. Here are the details.

Information session to start on the right path
Before the official starting date, all the contestants met at the information and preparation conference for the Challenge. The objective of this conference was to clearly explain the extent of their commitment, to present them with basic notions on exercise and nutrition, and also, to give them an opportunity to meet each other. We also asked one of last year’s winners to share her experience. They even had the chance to participate in a dynamic healthy exercise pause presented by Karine Larose!!! Once the presentations were made, the contestants seemed eager to start their Challenge!

What did they get into?
The contestants will follow the Transform program, in which they will have a chance to meet with their personal trainer on a weekly basis. The Challenge begins with a complete assessment of their physical condition and body composition, which will be done each week in order to follow their progress for the whole duration of this adventure. Their weekly weight loss results will be posted each Tuesday morning on the “I’m taking charge 2” tab of this blog. Their trainers will ensure that their workouts have the right intensity and will make the necessary adjustments to optimize each session.

The meetings with their nutritionists will make them understand the importance of eating healthy, avoiding excessive deprivation, and forgetting the word DIET for the rest of their lives! They will have the opportunity to follow the new Nautilus Plus nutrition program, Zero Diet. After an assessment of their present eating habits, the nutritionists will guide the contestants toward better food choices and plan out with them adequate servings according to their individual needs to favour a healthy and lasting weight loss.

What awaits them
Either in the context of my involvement in the TV Shows SOS Santé and SOS Beauté, or from my experience with contestants from last year’s Challenge, I can say with certainty that during the first week, the contestants will tend to give their maximum, and some of them will want to double their efforts by exercising more and eating less. However, they need to be careful and listen to the advice of their support team to ensure optimal recovery and avoid overtraining, or even worse, injuries. Muscle soreness will still be felt and is absolutely normal. With quality sleep, adequate nutrition and continuous exercise, their bodies will adapt and physical changes will appear quickly.

Be ready for the unveiling of the first TOP 12 of the best weight loss results for week 1, next Tuesday, September 4th.

Good luck to all contestants!
